I have the Neo2 combo kit.
In future, I plan to purchase the Goggles N3 separately to try FPV.

Since I currently have the RC-N3 remote controller, and I will pretty much be a FPV newbie flying in Auto FPV, will buying the Goggles N3 work with my existing controller?

Lowest price (was $419 around 12/12)

Decent seller, Smart Fly Gear.
Upon delivery, verify the product components and their function.
Fulfilled by Amazon (Prime, in stock, which can be same-day, YMMV).

With the Goggles N3 by itself going for around $250, this is a good entry price for those starting in FPV. It is equivalent to around $109 for the Neo with 3 batteries / charging holder.

In the US, DJI Care isn't available, which makes the Neo a cheap FPV trainer - you can learn carefree and fast with this bundle being less costly to crash- the Neo is pretty rugged.

As you gain FPV experience, the Goggles N3 can be used on the Neo 2 and Avata 2 (plus the DJI 04 and 04 Pro air units). But as you advance to full manual-mode, the included RC Motion 3 cannot be used - the "FPV Remote Controller 3" (dual stick) is required:

As an alternative, the Goggles N3 is available in a combo with the newer Neo 2 for +$200 ($599).

But I would think those that bought the Neo 2 controller-less would soon tire of the novelty, so should soon find deals in good, used condition. Plus, prices are dropping on the Neo2's Digital Transceiver ($39?), which is required for use with controllers.

So if your budget allows, the crash-cost would be higher on the Neo 2, but it is just as rugged, has better video quality, and more versatile control modes. This level of cost would start to justify recreational "hull" insurance, depending on pricing vs completeness of coverage.

Like most things in life, depends on your use case scenario and needs.
I bought this when it was $20 more expensive, and have loved it. It's fun to fly, and footage quality is pretty good.
If you want something to follow you with obstacle avoidance, then the Neo2 would be a better option. But obstacle avoidance could be a hindrance if you are flying FPV, which is what this bundle is for.
It's also a decent way to get the N3 goggles for a decent price if you wanna use them with the DJI modules for custom FPV drones.

Depends on your use case. If you want autonomous flying Neo 2 is better. If you want to do fpv, the higher speeds will exceed the limit of the sensors so better to practice on a cheaper drone like the neo as a replacement is cheap $150-$170 versus neo 2 $90 more

Is the Neo 2 worth $200 more for the same bundle, or is that not as good of a deal?

If you're good with eBay or Facebook marketplace, might be worth it to get this and keep the goggles, but sell the neo. That would be the cheapest way to get this goggles set. The neo 2 is awesome, and well worth the extra money over the neo 1.

No, the RC-N3 works with phones, so is not an FPV controller, so it can't work with DJI goggles.

I would interpret/equate your "Auto FPV" term with the DJI "Sport" mode, which is available on the RC-N3. For newbies, learning this mode via phone-view is still productive up to a point where you want to try manual hover / acrobatics.

But buying the Goggles N3 by itself, plus a used/new FPV Remote Controller 3 would cost around $270 plus $150 to $185. Before that kind of investment, it could be insightful to try out a few FPV simulators to see if the challenge would be fun or a lot of work, as the learning curve gets steeper in full manual mode

Not as good a deal. When buying drone only, the difference is about $100.

Combos allow complementary deals, but it all depends on how accessorized you want this hobby to be, and how much the DJI eco-system is to be invested compared to Walksnail, Ascent, HDZero, analog systems.

These are US prices, plus my views are based on the (dynamic) state-of-things, lack of availability at DJI store / DJI-Care, and of other providers/vendors.

DJI prices combos pretty well, and there are deals over buying separately. Since batteries get more expensive for new/better drones, the 3-battery combo difference widens to $130, but it makes that Neo2 3-battery combo a worse deal because it's missing the Digital Transceiver.

The better deal is the Neo2 Fly More with RC-N3 ($429) plus this combo ($399), but need to sell off Neo+batts and the RC-N3 for higher than $229. Or, I am keeping my Neo for newbie friends / family to crash about, and have other DJI drones for the RC-N3 to be backups or save my RC-2 from said newbies scratching it.

If selling / trading is not worth your time, the $599 Neo2 equivalent combo isnt that bad, since there's not much to do with a Neo after FPV training (when the Neo2 is so much better)

Once the Avata 360 becomes available, we could see more discounts on the Avata 2 with the Goggles 3 combo, then I can add that goggle to support other drones and the DJI 03 air unit.
