For anyone who doesn't know, the paint job on the Snake figure got rightfully ridiculed for looking like it was done by a 3rd grader.

At $200 for a "collector's edition", people expect a statue that looks better than a sweatshop knock-off of MacGyver/GI Joe/Kenny Loggins. Konami should be embarrassed enough to sell this for less than the base game, at this point.

laugh out loud that figure is so bad I almost want to believe they did it purposefully to piss off Kojima but knowing how lazy Konami is, they probably didn't even look at the final product.

That is embarrassing, it really is a temu /best value brand toy army soldier that they could easily switch out paint /outfit & cheap figurine could be a motorcycle rider , hockey player /trucker yada yada yada, & tbh when I read that you wrote that company should be embarrassed I thought u were just overall fed up w/ em all due to knowing years & years of reading & experiencing egregious examples of corporations/venture capitalist groups always succumbing to declining quality & raising prices - like ALL these corporations are embarrassing & pathetic, BUT for them to offer up that milk toast wallpaper paste whyte figurine to pass off as snake for a "200$" collector set - FFS why wouldn't they just pay an artist to replicate snake & thus they should be absolutely shamed & embarrassed - their is no way that figurine will be worth anything bcuz of the way it looks no matter how limited the games is - if they produced a limited kewl AF snake figurine & was a sought after / coveted item they would have credibility w/ other collector edition releases for other games , but i can't be the only one stunned how pathetic that figurine as a highlighted part of the 200$ collector edition - thank you for posting that pic btw - this is my longest reply / comment ever on SD - just a wasted opportunity to really come thru on a 200$ " collectors edition" of a historic video game franchise & once again we have another example where a corporation was trying to pinch & save pennies ( not hiring an artist to sculpt & design & the decision to outsource to 80's K-mart® toy white bearded male figurine for all adventure play sets ( used for cowboys ,police, military yada yada yada- yes the snake figurine was that pathetic ) to the factory that still cheaply produced them & not seeing massive opportunity for the long term potential - think NFL coaching in playoffs , u take the easy FG in a scoreless game on 4th&1 ( high end /elite snake figurine ) but they went for it on 4th &1 w/ a stupid fn' fake FG play- a double reverse screen pass to the kicker instead of just running the ball straight ahead or @ least passing to a player for 2+ yards

Paid $120 on the previous sale. This price is a steal. I feel for people who paid $200 for this thing. I agree with the other guy saying the Steelbook is the only thing really worth having. A simple fix for this is if you can get a different snake figure to add into the diorama.

This is exactly why I'm so skeptical that "Konami is back" when people got excited about the games that got announced at Playstation state of play...

I'll believe it when they remaster all the MGS games (properly) AND bring back kojima to restart Silent Hills (also properly)

Also, those games that got announced were made by very good third party developers who care about the Konami games more than Konami themselves... so give proper credit to the right entity.
