Its nice but I would recommend either paying more for the model with tamper built in or waiting for a deal on that one.

Its WAY more convenient IMO

Not just for your significant other but also for yourself, its quicker and more convenient. Sometimes you're on a time crunch like in the morning

FYI, it is a "Renewed Scratch & Dent" item. I also see no mention of any warranty.
This was my big question.. wondering if ninja still gives it a warranty

I was torn between this and Breville Barista Pro last year and ended up going with Breville, since I wanted a "real" espresso machine. But at this price I would have gone with Ninja. It seems legit, at least according to all the youtube coffee snobs, unlike some super-auto machines.

Yeah I have a super auto (Philips) and want to replace it with the ninja because ALL super autos have a mold problem. Guess that what happens when you have a damp dark box...

I also have super auto Philips for about 4 years now. I'm so tired of it leaking from everywhere onto my countertop. Already replaced the heater, grinder, and all the rubber seals 3 times. Usually, it works fine for a month, then something leaks or breaks again. I know it's kinda normal thing for super auto machines in this price range, but that is too much for me. Also, while the espresso is acceptable to my taste, it's nowhere near good or perfect.

Pulled the trigger on this deal - hopefully it'll arrive not damaged too badly. Also, based on multiple "experts" reviews on YouTube, I'm expecting noticeably better shots and some enjoyment from the process (trying to convince myself that one-button process on super auto is not that important for me, lol)

I ordered one on the 17th. Woot shipped it last night via UPS out of Riverside, CA; ETA tomorrow. I'll follow up on receipt with info about it's condition.

A few things I've learned after some Google research (caveat - I'm at the bottom end of the learning curve with respect to espresso machines):

Reviewers say it makes good espresso but mixed reviews on the drip mode. Drip mode seems to be a bit slow, maybe 4-5 minutes per cup.
One reviewer panned the cold brew mode, saying it wasn't truly cold brew. I've seen other reviews saying everything is good. I think it boils down to your level of expectations.
Some reviewers have issues with how well it froths milk - others say the frother works great, so it's possible that the frother may be be inconsistant from machine to machine.
Some have had issues after a while with the grind, fixed by disassembling the grinder and adding another metal shim.
The portable filter funnel on earlier models was made from inferior plastic and breaks easily. New ones with higher quality plastic are available on the Ninja website for not much money.
I haven't been able to fully confirm whether or not there is any plastic is in the brewing chain (my guess is that there is not).
Due to condensatrion or whatever, drain the tray frequently, may have to do daily.
Pretty much everybody says be sure to use fresh beans - buy beans with a "ground on" date not a "sell buy" date. Also consensus seems to be it does best with medium-dark to dark roast beans; light to light-medium roast may not brew as well.
My impression is that this is kind of an espresso machine with training wheels, maybe a "jack of all trades - master of none". It's not designed to compete with a $1,000 unit; it's more for folks like me who don't want to take the time to weigh beans, hand grind, and spend a lot of time experimenting to get the perfect brew.

I had reservations about ordering one due to concerns over long term reliability and the lack of a long warranty from Woot; also about the overall condition of these refurbised units. Time will tell I guess. That said, I have seen videos from folks who have used it daily for up to a year without issues.

Curious to hear your thoughts on this.
I've dabbled into coffee over the years, but I just don't have the patience to deal with all the variables (i.e. water temp, grind, ratios, etc.). Especially when I want to try a different bean and I'm back to square one.
I have no doubt that the similarly priced Breville machines can you get a better cup, but I just don't have feel like dealing with all of that. Nor do I want to invest in a high end grinder to go with it. This suits my needs perfectly. I'll take the decent cup off of this over the perfect cup from a Breville just because this is easier. Realistically, this is going to smoke any pod system, and blow away 80-90% of coffee the average person drinks. The diminishing returns on something ultra high end I can't justify.

Been on the fence all week on this one, wary of the renewed status and warranty, but FYI the $20 off for Woot via Prime today applies here and knocks down the price further, pulled the trigger. Thanks OP.

Got one today and it's going back, very poor shape in general, heavy scratches and melted plastic.
