Thanks OP! I just picked up the black one for under $13 shipped. It was listed at $12.12 on the product page. For me, the white one was listed at $12.99 but came out to $13.77 shipped after taxes.

This was the lowest rated blender by Consumer Reports.

Detailed Test Results
Soup Puree: This model performed fair in our soup puree tests.

I know nothing about the quality of this 300watt hand blender or any other, however I did find a 500watt alternative for $12.99 that I pulled the trigger on

Not if it can't do the job & stops working suddenly then ready for the bone yard.

That goes without saying and for literally anything, not just this blender. I was referring to the consumer report someone shared that said it performed fairly overall. It didn't say it stopped working. I mean even if a blender performed well or above average but suddenly stopped working, it probably wouldn't have received a performed fairly overall rating. Did I miss something? Did somebody say it suddenly stopped working on them? Or are you just saying a "what if?"

Nice price. I've a 40 year old Braun immersion blender that just keeps going and going. (Knock wood). Wonder how these new one measure up, especially the motor

Fwiw, I got mine for $13 and after 2 years of light use it still works. Yes, it's disposable chinese junk, but for 12 it may be all you need at this time.

kindof expensive. I always see immersion hand blenders for 14-15. I always buy them from 4-7.

FYI. The 500w one has some complaints about burning out or exploding after some usage. Looks like this works well until it lights up

Thanks, bought this particular one and just used it today. Works great, I normally use a regular blender but using a hand blender has less cleanup. Made some pancakes and blended carrots, bananas, and eggs. Will probably come in handy for some shakes.
