this is MY opinion, but I sat on it, for awhile and its sturdy. and theres individual coil system which most of these loungers dont have. also, you can unzip.remove the cover on the sealy pad you sit on, I dont know abut the rest of it, but the one you sit on, pops off and can be washed. id just spot treat the other areas.
I bought it for my wife, she likes to read, and the cats are already claiming ownership now as it expands. -- if you dont love it, I would not want the hassle of returning it with wayfair, prob charge arm and leg return. if you are local to costco, toss it in truck and go.
It just don't make sense unless you got this super duper big 'ol room and need something weird to fill it with

The pictures are not deceiving. I think it's more of a why question. Why does someone need a lounger chair the size of a full-size bed? It's like the quote from Jurassic Park:
"Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

To be serious for a moment, though: my family used to have a lounge bed like this in a corner with two big windows with curtains. The house was in an area that always had a moderate temperature and gentle breezes. It wasn't even a big house, but this made that part of the living room a heavenly napping and reading spot. Sprawling out in all sorts of positions while reading for hours there was really wonderful.
