PSA: Costco Refunding Previous Synergy Gift Card Purchases - YMMV (Synergy GC Networks CLOSED)

Just an FYI...
I had originally deleted the email because I thought it was spam and not really from Costco because it looked fishy. Costco sent me an email on Friday (2/13) telling me they are refunding me $100 , the fishy part was the "reason for return: Compensation Credit" and "item: CUSTSRVNT". Usually general things like that in an email scream phishing attempt to me, but then today I see a notification from my Costco credit card that a $100 refund credited to my account.
After looking up the order number given in the initial refund notification email on my Costco.com order history I see that it is for some Synergy Restaurant eGCs that I purchased. When I went to go see if they had a balance it shows the company shit down. I'm assuming they can tell I have not used those recent 2 GCs that have a value of $50 each so they just refunded me. I had recently used another GC a few weeks ago so they must ne able to see which ones have been used and which ones have not to give you the proper credit (or Synergy gave them the info).
Anyways, I'm sure you'll get the refund if eligible but wanted to let people know about the refunds and the fact that the GCs ar no longer valid since the company shut down.
