If an outlet can't hold a pound or two for a device, then the box was installed poorly.

Yeah no.

Lower surge protection.

But worse - at least 2 incidents in reviews of sparking/similar.

Can't find that its ETL or UL listed.

Also - why doesn't it plug into two outlets (since it blocks them) vs using just the one it does? Hmm..

That's common with other outlet extenders I bought before from normal brands (GE).

This mounts to the outlet by the prongs and one screw, the outlet then transfers the weight to the box mounted to the stud(or drywall).

I prefer the Philips branded ones over rando amazon brands. Also like that those have the plugs on the sides and a small shelf with a lip to hold a phone or similar small device.

The outlets are more than capable of holding the weight of the outlet extender and, say, a phone or an Alexa. A laptop? Maybe, but why would you even try?
