I love this kit. I own 2. Great grab and go kit, especially since it includes ratchet wrenches. I remember when these are used to only be $90 a few years ago. They have been $100 for a while now. But Sam's Club just recently raised the price to 120 so they can put it on sale for $100. Still very worth it. And they have a lifetime guarantee but I haven't needed to use it so I have no idea how easy channel lock is to deal with

This kit lacks the "bloat" of many other mechanic's sets but to not include a 17mm ratcheting wrench is odd.

It depends on your need. I have the Dewalt 192 set, and I really like it. The fit/finish/quality of the tools is really nice. I'm a home gamer doing working out of my garage and around the house, I have a well stocked medium size rolling cabinet of tools, but I usually just grab the Dewalt set and bring it around to where I'm working, vs running back and forth to the box. That being said, the Dewalt set is a socket-centric set. You do avoid lots of the filler you find in other sets--i.e. a million driver bits--but it doesn't have wrenches, pliers, a bit driver, etc. If you are looking for a grab-and-go set that is going to allow you to handle a multitude of tasks, the Dewalt would not be my choice.
The Channellock set does provide more flexibility, but one significant potential negative is the straight ratcheting wrenches. I have a Gearwrench ratcheting wrench set that is straight, and they are significantly less useful than standard non-ratcheting wrenches with angled heads--I almost never use them.
