That has not been a thing for a long time. This is clearance, YMMV, and if you can save some time effort and fuel by not driving over, a call is a great way to do that. Especially with a big shop like Sam's. People repeat it by rote, 'Never Call", as it has been repeated over time, without actually thinking about it anymore.

That really doesn't apply any more. That was primarily for Web 1.0, shops were starting up, running fast, ran with losses to gain market share, their software had bugs, and we got "paid" with discounts helping them with price mistakes and such.

1 location has it at the clearance price but no stock, but another location has stock but full price
Wondering if I could buy it at the full price location and then do a return re-buy at the cheaper location
