This Legion Pro 5 pairs a 16 inch 1600p OLED 165Hz display with a Ryzen 7 8745HX, RTX 5060, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD, making it strongest as a premium screen gaming laptop with generous memory. The 32GB configuration stands out because upgrading laptop RAM is costly right now, and the OLED panel gets praise for brightness and image quality. The main knocks are the $1180 price, the 8GB VRAM limit, and the lack of USB4 on this CPU version. It is a solid fit if display quality and memory matter more than chasing the cheapest 5060.

  • Buyers who need 32GB of memory now, because upgrading laptop RAM later can cost a lot and this configuration already includes it.

  • Gamers who want a premium 16-inch panel, because the 1600p 165Hz OLED display is a standout upgrade over cheaper gaming laptops.

  • Shoppers comparing midrange gaming laptops, because the RTX 5060 performance is close to a 5070 while this model includes 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.

  • People who want a well-built gaming laptop under a grand, because cheaper XX60 models are described as having worse screens and build quality.

  • Shoppers focused on pure gaming value, because $1,180 for an RTX 5060 is described as overpriced versus nearby 5070 and refurb alternatives.

  • Gamers who expect top-tier graphics headroom, because the RTX 5060 has only 8GB of VRAM and can fall behind 12GB cards in demanding games.

  • Buyers who need USB4 connectivity, because this configuration does not have USB4.

  • People who want a stable gaming machine out of the box, because one unit hard-crashed under load and needed CPU limits plus full-speed fans to stay usable.

Hey guys. I ordered one on 2/19 and received it by 2/21. Since then, the laptop has been nothing but a huge disappointment. The CPU spikes over its critical shutdown temp of 100 degrees and immediately hard crashes the laptop when playing games. This condition is not exclusive to heavy load either, as It crashes after soaking in the menu in a few games.
These crashes happened with a cooler in place, several bios (original, rollback, updated), several power profiles (balanced, max performance), untouched install, CTT debloat tweaks, several gpu drivers (lenovo update, nvidia standalone), and several fan profiles (quiet, performance, extreme, full speed).
The only time I able to get it stable was to limit max CPU to 99% with boost disabled and have the fans on full jet mode on a balanced power profile. The Dell G15 with a Ryzen 5800H with 3060 6gb that this laptop was supposed to replace puts this "new" machine to shame. After doing a quick search on the web, sadly found that I'm not alone with this issue. I'm taking this $1200 pile of e-waste to BestBuy to get my money back. Good luck to all that bought it. I hope you get a good pull.

Not a good price for a 5060. We have 5070 deals at this price now. And this has been as low as $1049-$1099. Idk why this is being thumbed up.

Yes, the only reason I posted that is because people considered this deal good. If you see the posting date, both deals are almost 10 days apart. Additionally, the processor is significantly better (powerful and efficient) than the Ryzen 8745HX in this, and the display although not OLED is better for gaming offering a 240Hz refresh rate. Thanks for the snark comment when the differences were obvious.
