Supports up to 2 x M.2 SSD (2242/2280)
*what I think most of the problem is. People either blame the laptop for their misuse or over compensate the specs not realizing they are just countering the overhead of their own, again, misuse.
Community Reviews
This IdeaPad Pro 5 stands out as a thin 16 inch OLED laptop with an RTX 5050, strong build quality, and a premium feel for the price. The 2.8K 120Hz screen gets repeated praise, and the GPU plus 8GB of VRAM makes it appealing for light gaming and moderate workloads. Storage is more flexible than expected, with two M.2 slots and support for 2242 and 2280 drives. The main drawback is the soldered 16GB LPDDR5X memory, which limits upgrades and may feel tight for heavier multitasking. Battery life is also modest, and a few reports describe freezing or overheating under light gaming.
The laptop supports two M.2 SSDs, which enables adding a second drive later.
The 2.8K OLED display and premium build quality are highlighted as standout features.
The RTX 5050 configuration includes 8GB of dedicated GPU memory, which can help workloads compared with iGPU-only setups.
The model includes two USB-C ports with PD, which supports charging from compatible USB-C power sources.
The 16GB LPDDR5X memory is soldered, which limits future RAM upgrades.
The laptop can freeze and require hard shutdowns even during light browsing or non-demanding games.
The laptop may overheat easily during gaming, and blue screens can occur when plugging in while warm or waking on battery.
Lenovo checkout sales tax can be calculated incorrectly, which may lead to a higher card charge than the order confirmation shows.

One thing I am a little confused with is whether the USB-c ports have PD or not. I'm getting conflicting info on the website & YT reviews. Maybe the intel versions have PD?
I THINK this page is correct. Arrived here by a Q&A link from a mod at the Lenovo website. Filter for US products will narrow it down to 2 offerings (both 16gb) for this model.

If I am not mistaken off a YT video, the used size is the smaller footprint and the open one is a dual size (2242/2280). Vid release 2months ago.

1) Plugging the laptop on while running a game while somewhat warm
2) Waking the laptop up while it was running a game on battery.
Maybe a dud of a laptop, and the blue screens have workarounds but not enough for me. It's a shame because it looks and feels like a great laptop.
UPDATE: Correction to my earlier comment: I dug into the Lenovo PSREF and this model actually lists the RTX 5050 at 105W TGP with 8GB GDDR7, which is much higher than the 35–65W configs people expect from thin laptops. So it's not the heavily power-limited version. Still not a full gaming chassis, but it's closer to a proper mid-tier configuration than I originally thought.
