Yup. Not future-proof. Whoever buying this, enjoy for like 18 months or less and need new laptop. Don't fool for the cheap price with rtx 5050. Lenovo knows that 16gb soldered ram is the dealbreaker.

Never buy anything Windows with 16GB ram no matter how good a deal is, unless you plan on upgrading in a year or two. Learned my lesson.

There are a lot of people who can't afford a 32gb laptop and they do basic tasks where 16gb is fine for them. I woulnd't call this a dealbreaker or not future-proof since it is highly dependent on the user. For my mom, this would absolutely be fine for at least 3 years. I would be more concerned with the quality since 32gb of ram does you no good if the laptop dies in 2 years.

All Ultrabooks have soldered RAM. Buy the absolute best specs you can afford and think you will ever need during the life of the ultrabook's lifetime because you're going to be stuck with it.

Not a bad thing necessarily, but plan ahead.
