Wow. I had no idea. I use my Rocketbook all the time.
Seems like it's all a bit up in the air still at the moment. Seems that someone could buy Rocketbook. And something could come along to replace the app. But who knows and might be unlikely. Still the app will be supported by Bic for another year and that's about all we do know.

BIC announced this back in December 2025 — someone's been working on an alternative to the app and it's actually pretty solid. Ideally, we'll end up with something that works properly for everyone and has real support.

it is great that someone is already working on an alternative. I am mot very tech-savvy and I got lost with the instructions on how to self-host it on your server through a dock.

I'm hoping someone makes a YouTube tutorial soon so I can set it up.

1 Star reviews are bad.. I got a similar product a while back. It ended up in the never used pile. Why would you use this over Microsoft Lens or any of the other note taking apps?
