Philips went out of business and cheap Chinese companies buy and trade this brand name. Be aware that they hide behind a familiar name deceptively.

Yep........ai says:
"The Philips company sold its television business in 2012 to TP Vision, a joint venture between Philips and Hong Kong-based TPV Technology. Many consumers are unaware that Philips no longer produces the TVs themselves and is no longer involved in production. Philips retains a 30% stake in TP Vision and receives royalties from sales."

You should only rely on AI for half baked answers....

Philips sold it's remaining 30% stake in 2014. TPV makes TV for everywhere, except North America.

Philips TVs in North America were made by Funai until last year, when Funai went bankrupt. Now the license is with Skyworth.

Sony finally threw in the towel and will are now in the process iof setting up a minority stake in joint venture with TCL Sony should have seen the light some 15 years ago.
