The Segway Cube 2000 is cheaper at least in part because it lacks some features the Mega 2 has, most importantly - to me, anyway, if I'm going to pay for something at this pricepoint - a TT-30R port and 30A Anderson output.

Does the Segway have any spec sheet advantage over the Mega 2? The OUPES has an additional AC outlet, higher output and surge, and significantly higher input charging.

I agree that Segway is more of a known brand, but I'm not sure "way better" is justified as there is no data to support the claim. I agree that OUPES might end up being a gone-overnight brand and their 6-year warranty could end up meaning nothing. Regarding customer support, I'm going to need you to provide more evidence of them not honoring their warranty as nothing I can find backs up the claim. It sounds like you may have had a bad experience with them - and yes, your experience is totally valid - but I don't think many people have had your experience.

Segway cube 2000 is cheaper and a way better brand. From my own experience, OUPES has terrible customer support. Also seen reviews where they don't honor warranty. GL.

I thought I'd purchased a unit from their big sale last week, but the card keeps getting declined. I emailed them, but I get a response saying they are taking 2 weeks off for Chinese New Year. Not ideal timing seeing that they probably had a huge influx of orders during that time.

Not sure why you wouldn't get 2x of the MEGA 1's @ $299 apiece for the same total Wh capacity but 2x2000W total. I'd rather have the security of a second device in case of failure, rather than paying more for one of these, since you're not really getting better outputs by upgrading. Even comparing weight, 27.8lbx2 = 55.6lb (25.2kg) vs 48.5lbs (22kg) isn't a huge difference, but one can be halved easily and the transport work divided.

It does have a 12V 30A Anderson port, enough to run a diesel heater

This is a big selling point they did not mention it

Terrible customer service. They tried to stall getting a return so I would go past the 30 day no questions asked return policy which they didn't want to honor either. I ended up filing a claim with PayPal and my money was refunded.

I had a question about my Guardian 6000 and got an immediate response from customer respond (and it was not a canned response) it addressed the question directly.

I disagree. I emailed Oupes at 3pm and had a reply by 10:30am the next day. The part had been shipped at the same time. Got in 2 days. If you consider that bad then you need to reevaluate your definition of bad. The Internet says all of them suck. Ive heard Anker is good.

Exactly my thoughts as well. Besides the greater total watts, moving the second unit closer to where it's needed means shorter power cords to the appliances.
However, since the Mega 2 includes an Anderson port and this is all new to me, what are other common use cases for this port besides a diesel heater?

I don't disagree, but one advantage the Mega 2 has is a TT-30R (120V) socket, which is pretty much required for RV hookups and the bare minimum (with some caveats) for an interlock with home electrical panel.

I'm also fairly certain you can't connect a Mega 1 to another Mega 1 via expansion port, only add B2/B5 batteries (or do the hack and save yourself a fair bit of money). So if you want more than 1024Wh and aren't willing to do the hack, it doesn't make sense to buy two Mega 1s over a Mega 2.

I still agree with the thought process, though. Personally, if you don't specifically need the TT-30R for an RV, the real value here is to buy a Mega 1 and do the hack. If a person wants to do an interlock for true home backup, it makes more sense to me to upgrade to the Guardian series which does 240V.

Good price! but Will Prowes doesn't recommend this brand after his testing.

If you are tempted, my advice is just don't! I can't speak to the performance of this unit, but I purchased one of these on January 29th and I have yet to receive anything. Despite being promised a refund 10 days ago, that has yet to materialize either. Maybe their units works fine, but given their customer service and their lack of concern I wouldn't bank on it.
