I've been looking at the 37" variant of this to get away from the ultrawide format. NEW from Woot! for $459.99 which beats every recent post I've seen.

The 40" ultrawide variant is $659.99. Not sure how that price stacks up.

was just looking at this exact model yesterday (37"). just ordered. came out to $500.xx total with free shipping using amazon account. this is the rtings review for the 32"(https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...g7-s32bg75). seems like a solid choice, especially since i want this specifically for the size and console compatibility
Totally different monitor and overall tech that you linked

This should be a fine monitor and the price is really good assuming you know its limitations.

I was an early adopter of the productivity models that Samsung came out with this year in the 37" 4k format. Those panels are flat, have a lower refresh rate, and include usb-c connectivity. The VA panel should be very similar since their specs mention similar brightness and color reproduction. The differences will be that this model is curved and has a higher refresh rate. With that said, the VA panel on the productivity model is underwhelming by today's standards.

This model does have something like 8 to 12 dimming zones, which is very poor but it will slightly improve performance.

It looks good, has good performance, some nice rgb ring lighting on the back, but you will notice other technologies providing better overall picture. As with all curved VA models, you will likely have light bleed at the apex of the curves.

Yes, because as someone replied, it's not the exact same model. Instead of just deleting all together, I edited the comment so people will see what the reply was referring to.

37 Inch model is $459 yes. But that model is UHD (4k) not WUHD (5k). That's a huge difference man...Please correct it in the title

I actually think they are both misleading. The specs are all wonky on the description. The 40" is an ultrawide 4k and the 37" is a 16:9 4k.
I wasn't really sure what they were until looking at the samsung site:

I have this exact monitor. It's excellent and the curve is pretty intense after using a flat monitor for years but you do slowly get used to it. If this form factor was available in OLED and a little less curve at 1800R instead of 1000R would make this monitor pretty close to perfect.
