Why? Since you can pair them both together for stereo.
No, you get Mono x2, not stereo. These have their place, and I like my pair, but the $119 MSRP is WAY overpriced. At $50, these feel more like what they're worth than some great bargain Actually, let me take that back. Right now, the secondary that's only 4 feet away from the primary can't hold a connection. May be taking these back. If they can't hold a connection when they're 5 feet away, they're not worth more than maybe $20 (for one)

I have these. Own it for more than a year. While I appreciate the ease of Ryobi batteries, I can assure you sound quality is below junk. Even cheap no name brand 10 bucks in ross, tjmax, amazon sound better than this.
I still keep these, use frequently(like every other day) because of 2 reason: 1.For showering purpose, it is loud enough, ways louder than those compact waterproof shower speakers i got from amazon(has 6 different kinds until i settle down with this)
2. other speakers, when batteries die, i need to bring them out of my showers, recharge, wait, and forget to put it back then feeling frustrated when i need it and its not there. For this ryobi, an extra battery sitting right nearby make sure i never run out of juice. So for shower, as long as there are some music, loud, i am happy enough and try to resist nitpicking on its sound quality.
For any one else who has even such slightest expectations for what you listen, be warned! And please remember Ryobi is a Tools brand😂😂.

I went thru the same rotation of waterproof speakers for the shower and ended up just using a Google home. No connecting phones, recharging batteries, and better sound quality than this
I bought these at HD this past weekend and paired them with the 2 I already have. The link works great for me and the sound is fine, esp for the price. I think $50 for a pair is a pretty decent price.
