I was building up my stock of tools and using deals like this a while ago, came back 2 months after a large purchase w/o any hacks to buy something random and kept getting an error message. I called in and they ended up unlocking my account.
Gladly they gave me my account back and I've already got all the big tools I need. I've bought one or two items through a hack but am very concious (if knowing or thinking I will probably have a return) to use a CC that doesn't connect to my account and do it in store (so nothing ties it to my online account).
I was buying a lot as I basically had nothing and what I did have was replacing with newer/better stuff.
Good luck to anyone doing these hacks and/or getting account unlocked if already to that stage.

I probably did the hack 4-5 times over the last 10 years. I'm not an eBay/mp flipper. Reddit says they did it to the abusing hackers and flippers. I don't think I was abusing it compared to other commenters.
I created another account to order something (non-hack), placed an order, order went through, although it got banned as well. They might be doing credit card linking or home street address linking.
I've done everything I could to avoid HD now, I'll even pay more to get some Milwaukee items from ace hardware stores than go to hd b&m since hd banned me.

It was one of the public #'s, not 100% sure which. Looking at my call log, I THINK it was ultimately 800-466-3337 OR 800-430-3376.
