Ignore any negative review that complains about it being plastic. This is a high-quality showerhead. I own the round version, and I certify that my review is honest, fair, and unbiased based on my own firsthand experience. Note that I don't work for or represent Moen in any way; I am sharing my fair unbiased review.

Also, I would never knowingly post anything misleading — the FTC treats fake reviews as deceptive advertising, and I'm not interested in anything like that. My comments are based entirely on my firsthand experience with the Moen Verso.

People keep saying ignore the complaints about these being plastic. If you install these or reinstall these shower heads with any frequency you will see a high number of cracked tensioner caps. There aare a few reasons for this, but metal tensioners are far more durable and never crack. This is fact. If you don't mind plastic than this is a fine unit.

Mine is still going strong for almost 4 years now and still no cracks. And I would never knowingly post anything misleading — the FTC treats fake reviews as deceptive advertising, and I'm not interested in anything like that. My comments are based entirely on my firsthand experience with the Moen Verso. You probably received a lemon.

No one is saying that they won't last. People are saying plastic is more fragile than metal. Nothing to really argue there.

At the same time metal can be an impact hazard due to weight, and a scalding hazard due to heat conduction. The reason why most of the major faucet brands stick to plastic for handhelds is not due to cost-cutting, but for safety reasons.
