I'd still go Supertech Full Syn at $17.xx. If Mobile 1 was this price then maybe.

Oh yeah not falling for this one again. "Mobil" is not the same as "Mobil 1"

If you're following recommended oil change intervals (5-6K miles) your engine won't know the difference.

More like one will blow up your engine slowly over time by breaking down quicker than the other and causing more engine wear.

5W30 is available for the same price (just scroll down the original product's page) and meets Ford's WSS-M2C961-A1 spec. Kirkland, Mobil, Mobil 1, Warren, SuperTech, whatever. Lots of mechanics say frequency of change is a lot more relevant to engine care than is brand.
A local Toyota dealer commercial brags about free four year maintenance coverage: fine print reveals the third and fourth years' coverage consists of two oil changes (one/year!) and four tire rotations: that'll hurt more than choosing the 'wrong' brand of synthetic oil. Literally, YMMV.

How is it different from Mobil 1?

Is SuperTec same as Mobil and not Mobil 1?

Are these bottles a different formula or is it just a new label?

The internet says this stuff is actually synthetic blend. What say you?

If you want a good education on motor oil, watch a few of Lake Speed's videos.

If you have a modern VW, avoid. Does not meet spec.

Costco synthetic version -worth buying?
CostoCo is my best goto. Mobile 1 is the best butttt, I have been turned onto a synth that is formulated for SoCal specifically. It has a name I can't remember right now but some CalTech made it at Chevron in the Southbay. Cheap and good so far. ratings are great when I researched it originally. I'm racking my brain right now but can't remember it. Give me a day.

Yeah I think Mobil High Mileage Full is the old Mobil Super 5000 replacement.

Recommended oil change intervals on newer cars are 10-20k miles. I don't trust this oil to last anywhere near that long.

And, yeah, oil is cheap, quality oil is also cheap compared to the cost of the engine. Spend a few bucks more than the cheapest garbage for more insurance.

i follow a few shops on social media, a few good ones recently posted videos saying they are not recommending those long change intervals anymore, despite what mfg's say. They are seeing problems. One shop says 7k for 100% synthetic and 5k for the synthetic blends no matter what the mfg recommends .

I do mine at 5K and use quality full synthetic. I forgot to add that in my last reply. Manufacturer recommended intervals are just there to get you past the warranty period.

Love watching people debate what oil is the best. Been in the industry for automotive and heavy truck for over 30 years. In very few use cases, most of the time new cheap no name oil will work fine. Just change your oil regularly. I run 15W-40, which is typically a diesel truck rated oil in my high mileage gas truck because it increases the oil pressure, which helps on an older engine when you are sitting at a red light idling if you have thinner oil. Whatever, doesn't matter. Just change your oil, at least every 5k miles or less.
