Since the inception of solar charging, I've always regretted it if I didn't get it. Plugging these devices in is an annoyance I can always do without.

Hate how the sides are white. Should have been all metal.

The mixture of imperial and metric units is criminal

I had a pixel watch 2 that eventually needed to be charged once a day.
I ended up dropping it one day after charging, shattering the glass... Don't think a Garmin would shatter that easily, but still.

I was debating that as well and decided to get the epix pro. I'm happy with my decision. The color on the watch is vibrant, battery life is still great and unless you're outside a lot, I think the solar charging won't tip the scale much. I work in the office myself and really only get out to exercise or walk after lunch. I don't think I'll get much charge just from that.

Meanwhile I still haven't figured out how many weeks my fenix 3 lasts because it's long enough I always forget my count

Got one of these last Nov/Dec - this is a great price for the Pro Sapphire.
I easily get 6-7 days out of it between charges; and that's with 4-5 hour+ gym workout sessions, and wearing it 24/7 with notifications on. This was a huge upgrade over my Venu 2 and while solar is a nice-to-have, its not very useful unless you are out and about all day to take advantage of it. For those sitting at a desk most of the day, the "annoyance" of having to charge it once/week is a first world problem. The only shortcoming for Garmin is their propreitary charger. One more cable to carry when you travel...

It's right at the edge of what I think most men with regular size wrists can pull off. I have moved up over the years from 41 mm to 43 to 45 and now this at 47 mm. The 51 mm is a chonker. I really wanted to make that work, but nah...

I think it depends on what you are used to wearing and your wrist size. 47 is big but not really too big for what it is. I have bitch wrist and I would wear it, but may not be for you.

You'll find solar charging very slow and limited . It will make no difference, unless you leave the watch outside in the sun , and even then it will only charge very little percent . Amoled display is like black&day difference...
