Give me the old school version with the little plastic tabs over these any day (I probably have half dozen of each at this point). So much more straight forwards...I use these every 6 months or so when I'm gone on a trip and in the spring time for my vegetable starts and it's such a pain to try to remember how to program the digital ones if you haven't used them in a while. Unless you need a really extensive schedule that changes every day, they seem overly complicated.

Agree--no credibility left on retail price claims.
Newer listing at Amazon (with no reviews) on a similar 2 pack electronic timer set gives a list price of $9.

I don't remember how much I paid but got these 5 plus years ago for fish tank lights and still works great.

Setup takes a few minutes, not the most intuitive but can figure out quickly.

I did the same thing with one of these. It has outlasted the lights.

I would say buy smart plugs like Kasa. Much better to control and program and it can be controlled remotely. I have two of these and they are very reliable but a little outdated. Kasa ones also monitor energy usage.

Local/zigbee smart plugs have replaced this type of digital programmable plug for me. Local programming/operation is mandatory if you don't want your timers to depend on Internet access. Bonus points if the timers work without network access at all. Tasmota supports this.

On the low end, the basic mechanical timers with the 30-minute interval tabs work great.

Got something similar 20+ years ago. Works great. Use it 3-4x every years. It has built in rechargeable battery in case of power interruption (doesn't reset the clock).
