Keep yapping. laptop 11th gen is very different from desktop version. 1185g7, 4c8t Tiger Lake 10NM, less power with higher performance while maintaining amazing power management inherited from Skylake. People like you might thought 12th gen alder lake will be so much better than 1185g7 but the fact is 12th gen has high uncore power issue, ecore voltage must follow p core voltage such that battery life is terrible especially for 12th gen p-series. For example, X1Carbon gen 10 with 1260p, X1Nano gen 2.So maybe do some little research before you talking nonsense.

Not in this case. The desktop 11th gen were far worse than the mobile chips.

I really wish Microsoft went w/ AMD and dropped intel over the years... thats the primary reason why these devices devalue so quickly.... Yes Intels latest generation Ultra Gen 3 is actually finally decent but that took them like nearly 8 generations to get to where AMD was....

Ah. I was trying to check on my phone and I couldn't find it originally.

I will say the Surface Laptop lines displays are usually very good. More pixel dense, but more importantly, higher brightness. I believe Microsoft was attempting to compete with Macbook displays.

Even Google points out "in thin and light laptop designs", but you just ignore that and say 1185g7 the worst gen. That's why I say keep yapping. Unfortunately, I love to buy laptops, and I will prove why you are wrong. T480s, I7-8650u, 4c8t, easily 35w at 3.8ghz, no heat throttle bc it's a light workstation. X1Carbon 2020, i7-10610u, 4c8t, heat throttle after 20w. X1Carbon 2022, i7-1260p heat throttle after 25w, 4p+8e. Surface Pro 8, 1135g7, heat throttle after 35w. 8650u and 10610u are all fine, extremely low uncore power(0.5w idle), amazing runtime power management, which is also owned by 1185g7. Furthermore, 1185g7 is significantly faster on reactions, the improved igpu can handle 4k screen without lagging, and in DC mode, SP8's fan never open, but it still fast enough to handle work, only issue is the trackpad is a absolute 0. On X1Carbon 2022 it's totally different, 1260p has 3w idle power(U series has same issue, but slightly better), which made this 57wh ultrabook and me suffer everyday. The battery life is terrible and I have to check battery every hour. Back to 2022, If you are saying i7 1185g7, you are basically saying all intel 27w,35w and useries laptop chip are trash, but it still doesn't cover the fact that 1185g7 is better than all of 1-12th gen p series.

The 11gen mobile chips are great, I have several laptops and a Surface Pro with them and are highly capable
