It's good but there's zero reason to call it great/amazing. The vocabulary alone almost makes it unwatchable. I can promise you that no one was saying a certain word so casually, especially to each other. If you're going to try and make a period piece, at least get the dialogue somewhat historically accurate. Don't have them using words that don't even exist yet in the context that they were used. Annoying.

it's set in 1930's Mississippi. EVERYBODY was saying a certain word very casually.

Bland vampire musical movie that makes no sense on a good plot. Music is a sleeper too!

"Sinners" as a disjointed film that feels like two bad movies stitched together, with a slow pace and convoluted narrative. While it features ok performances and iproduction, many will find it and odd vampire musical with unsatisfying and lacking in entertainment value

Hollywood Elites and the Academy only proclaim to love it because it is both a fantasy-tinted Musical movie (like La La Land) and an African-American struggle period piece, that is "modernized" to fit their values.
Without either of these factors, it is just a schlock vampire movie that they would dismiss.

it always amazes me when people crawl out of the woodwork to bash a nearly-universally-acclaimed film. could it be that the majority of opinions don't need to attempted to be swayed by the negative minority? let others enjoy things in peace; your nitpicks and negativity aren't going to convince anyone that it's an objectively bad film.

This is a movie that I cannot predict the plot until after 50% of the show. I give you that. But, what a horrible movie to blend anti-racism and vampire together. I won't spend more than $2 for it.
