Rebaid Closure Announcement
It's with great sadness that we are announcing the upcoming closure of Rebaid. We have been proud to offer thousands of deals since launching in 2019 and appreciate the loyalty of the shopper community over all these years.
Why we are closing
While Amazon's published Terms of Use and Seller Code of Conduct never has expressly prohibited sellers from advertising deals off-Amazon, comments published by an Amazon representative on a seller forum in 2023 were interpreted by many sellers as guidance against such off-Amazon deals. In the years since there has been a slow but consistent decline in sellers offering deals on Rebaid out of fear that doing so could jeopardize their Amazon seller accounts.
More recently the remaining active Rebaid sellers were targeted by an extortion scheme by an overseas scammer. A message was sent through Amazon to all sellers with active deals on Rebaid. The message threatened sellers with multiple 1-star product reviews, and baselessly threatened to report sellers to Amazon for soliciting fake reviews through Rebaid (a practice we've never supported) unless the seller contacted this scammer through WhatsApp and paid a ransom. As such the vast majority of remaining Rebaid sellers have now discontinued using the platform.
Sadly due to the confluence of these events Rebaid is no longer viable to operate.
