Anker's 20,000mAh power bank stands out for its built in cable, fast charging, and enough capacity to keep phones, tablets, and even laptops going for long stretches. The pack is described as handy for travel, vacations, business trips, and field use, with enough juice for multiple phone charges and extra runtime for a laptop or handhelds. The 65W recharging speed is also a major draw. The main knocks are its heft and the feeling that $49.99 is steep compared with older or cheaper 20,000mAh packs. A solid option if capacity and convenience matter more than a lighter, cheaper brick.

  • People needing all-day backup on trips, because the 20,000mAh capacity can deliver multiple phone charges and still leave spare power.

  • Phone users who want a built-in charging lead, because the integrated cable is handy and has been very useful.

  • Owners of 45W-capable phones who want faster top-ups, because the pack charges quickly and supports higher-wattage charging than older 18W units.

  • Travelers carrying a laptop and handheld consoles, because the pack can keep them running for extra hours while away from an outlet.

Wow...got this back in 2017-2018 when I started traveling for work and still use it today, going strong. This thing is all I ever need to carry for 3-4 day business trips, from phone, ipad, watch, earpods. It has been all around the world and it as strong as the day I got it.

I got it from a Slickdeal posted here for $20. Are we ever getting back to normal pre-Covid pricing on things? I'd feel crazy paying $50 for it now.
Your 2017-2018 power bank, while still Anker and 20,000mAh capacity, is a different product. I'm 100% sure it's NOT 87W charge. I'd guess 18W, because that's the charging tech of 2017-18.

Please, tell us more how you bought this exact power bank that was released in 2024 a mere 6-7 years before it was available and paid less than half its lowest recorded price of $44.99.

This is the problem with this pre-Covid pricing nostalgia nonsense. People are misremembering things that simply are not true.

Sure, I'll tell you more about it. It's about capacity.

A 20-40,000mAh battery actually keeps you powered. The 35W vs 60W vs 87W debate is about how fast you burn through the same bucket of energy. Wattage is speed. mAh is how much gas is in the tank.

You can brag about 87W all day, but if the pack is small, you just drained it faster. Congratulations, you charged your laptop at warp speed…once.

A 20,000mAh pack means multiple phone charges, real laptop runtime, and not panicking when you're nowhere near an outlet. That's usefulness. Speed is nice. Staying powered at a sustained 35W is better than a 87W burst that normalizes to 35W after a few minutes.

But hey, tell us more about how you get off on the spec sheet "speed" numbers. Go ahead, I've got all the power I need. I stocked up on about 10 of these 20,000-40,000mah blocks before prices went up during Covid.

Don't care about 87W and marketing hype to justify charging consumers more for the same battery capacity. Why pay extra for 87W output when the majority of devices - actually everything but the laptop - doesn't accept power above 30W? But you do you.

If you want a battery bank to charge your phone on the fly then you absolutely do care about charge speed. I and many other people bought this newer, more expensive model to do just that.

Does this newer, more expensive Anker model help their device receive charge at more than 35W?

For phones, anything above ~35W offers no practical speed advantage.

Sorry you bought into the marketing hype and wasted your money.

I did not "waste my money". I bought my previous Anker in 2017 and it only supported up to 18W. My current phone supports 45W charging and I will own this battery bank for many more years.

I'm sure this is super fast, and that the built in cord is handy, but I bought the 20,000 Anker version without the cord two weeks ago for under $20. I have a veritable overgrown jungle of extra cords and normally only charge my iPhone and earbuds. Mine is like a large heavy brick, but it charges the phone quickly and I'm getting 10+ phone charges per each "brick" charge

My Baseus 65 watt 20k bank that I got for $20 in December 2024 just died on me, which makes me very sad. I took it everywhere to charge my phones, laptops, and Switch. I'm looking for a new one that can last for more than a year, but this Anker doesn't seem very slick, with the warranty period being the same as the Baseus, who did give me a refund for the $20 bank. The Baseus gave me display for input/output along with percentage remaining, which was quite useful.

Maybe you should hop back in your time machine and grab a few more. While you're there, ask them what made your unit so special to cause said zero battery degradation in almost a decade too! But seriously, how do you not realize this is a different product and then double on on stubborn responses to show your foolishness

The Ankers bought from 2018-19 have no noticeable degradation, so there is no reason they won't make it to 2028-29. Thanks for asking.

Lastly, I have a bunch of 20-40,000mah Anker batteries in the 18W-35W range. The point I made was that capacity - in my experience and use case - is more important than the charging speed, even when charging a laptop. I use the 18W-35W packs for watches, air pods, headphones, flashlights, tablets, and phone, I notice no difference in charging speed because only the tablet and phone are designed to accept charges over 15W. For me, and most people, 87W is overkill. That's all.

Having the ability to keep a laptop, switch1/2, steamdeck and a lot of other devices are options. Ive used this to keep my laptop going a. Extra few hours while out in the field.

Link to others with wall prong?
We've used others similar to this, tend to look for only ones with specific plug ends but these are very convenient when going on trips.

These don't have wall prongs like you mentioned.
