This under door draft stopper is a simple interior door seal that blocks drafts and cuts noise, with several installs described as effective on basement, laundry room, and other indoor doors. Installation is straightforward, since it can be measured, cut with scissors, and stuck on with the included 3M tape, and the coupon appears to work on multiple sets. The main caveat is adhesion, which is described as weak on some doors and may need extra tape or a screwed in strip. It also arrives rolled up and is not a good fit for exterior doors.

Aren't door gaps important for HVAC systems for homes that have central air? Air needs to be able to move in and out of rooms or it can lead to uneven cooling/heating and wear on the system/increased energy bills.

Looking from the purchase history, the last time I bought this (probably comes from SD) as well are $5.30 in 2023. Tariff + Inflation on this item is about 0.7(13.2%).

Can you paint these to match the color of the door you're putting them on?

I installed this on my interior basement door. The adhesive is pretty useless so I used a screwed in metal strip to hold it in place. Worked great until the cats discovered it. It took a couple months, but they shredded all of it into tiny pieces. The silicone material must feel good on their claws. I bought a replacement but I'm not going to bother.

The ones I have appear to be made of silicone rubber which does not hold paint well.

What would be the benefit of using them on anything but an exterior door?
I have an interior door that opens to a staircase that leads to a garage where cold drafts can make their way through. We have something similar on our door but I kind of hate it and need to figure something better out. Mine is a heavier duty foam, not rubber so maybe this would be better.
