Why say stuff like this if you obviously have no idea how cars work? There is less effect in direct injection cars because the valves don't get cleaned with this but injectors still get cleaned.

KIA/Hyundia recommend this every 5K ***IF*** you do not use TopTier certified fuel, which has a certified amount of detergent in the fuel (Shell, Costco, Mobil, Marathon, Meijer......) Station listing is here: https://www.toptiergas.com/

I agree that Valvoline Restore and Protect is great and is what I use to keep carbon off piston rings and inside engine, but motor oil does not come into contact with intake valves or fuel injectors which is what this is meant for. Use TopTier fuel only is an equal solution to Techron.

What difference did you expect to see?
I expected, from the website "Maximize fuel economy, restore lost power and performance, restore and protect operation of the fuel gauge sensor". I did not notice any of these things. At any time. In any of my cars. But you are correct, the maker does not actually promise much with this product. I'm sure some people find this product useful, it is very popular. So were mileage magnets on fuel lines some years ago. But for me, it was $6 of nothing. I encourage others with an extra $12 to potentially waste, to try this. Maybe it will work for them.

Absolutely. Pour just two bottles in the Frunk and it'll automatically seep throughout the electrical system. Should help add up to 2kwh to your mileage.

jic.... I'm jk.
Gotta love it!

For Top Tier locations...is this for all tiers of gas or just the premium?
Premium is a complete waste of $, unless your car specifically requires/recommends it. TopTier certified fuel is all octane levels.

seems like a normal price
That's because it's seemingly always on sale someplace. Personally I'm going to wait for the bigger bottles to go on sale (which hasn't been happening lately).

It's great to recommend Top Tier gas - and there certainly seems to be some merit to continuous, long-term use (https://www.consumerreports.org/c...682471234/) - but I legitimately can't find any evidence that it's worth it over using something like this semi-regularly and even at its regular price, it's almost certainly cheaper to use this over the premium for Top Tier.

Around me, Costco is the cheapest Top Tier gas and it's still $0.10/gallon or more over Sam's Club. Costco is farther away and the lines are always absolutely stupid, probably because it's $0.20/gallon cheaper than other Top Tier gas.

So for me, I'd rather buy non-TT gas that is more convenient - and, let's be honest, any chain is going to be completely fine, it's the no-name mom and pop shops in the middle of nowhere that you have to be careful about - and put this in every 5000 miles. Even if our van got 30mpg (it doesn't) and Costco were convenient (it's not), my time isn't worth anything (it is), a bottle of this stuff would need to cost $16+ to break even.

To each their own. As a happy EV owner, I simply cannot wait to get rid of our remaining gas car once there's a good EV van option. That will almost certainly be another 5+ years, but whatever. I am so ready to be done with all the BS maintenance that comes with comparatively delicate internal combustion engines.

I've tried this many times, in many cars, in the past and noticed absolutely zero difference. But, maybe it works for some people.
Did you use a bore scope/camera to look at the intake and exhaust valves? I didn't think so.

Check your local AutoZone. They had Rislone complete fuel system treatment with PEA at BOGO as well!

No, no scope or camera. But I did remove the cylinder head. Before and after. I saw no difference. I noticed no change in performance. I saw no improved mileage. Perhaps it cleaned the fuel gauge sensor - I did not check inside the tank - and that probably would be beneficial. I am sure that this works for some, but for me YMMV. Maybe all the gas near me is Top Tier?

Interesting KwikTrip is not listed as a top tier gas station any more...
