I have this model, and it's the ONLY ONE I found to not do random disconnects on my Mac Mini m4. Has been rock solid since I plugged it in.

It's totally fair to evaluate the quality of a deal based on previous available prices. Especially if it was just a few months ago.

Community Reviews

This is a 40Gbps M.2 NVMe enclosure aimed at fast, stable USB4 and Thunderbolt storage. It is described as very sturdy, and the dedicated enclosure has been rock solid for Mac mini M4 use, including boot drive duty and speeds over 6,000 MBps with a good NVMe. The main cautions are heat, since it can run hotter than expected, and compatibility, since it needs a Thunderbolt or USB4 port to perform properly. It also sits close to past OWC pricing, so value depends on how much that stability matters.

Absolutely fair comment by @amax. Knowing historical pricing is useful for assessing a deal. Why do you think we have sites like the camel? I don't understand why ppl don't get this. It might suggest the item is overpriced and worth delaying a purchase. Of course, that's up to the individual to decide if they care. Nobody should come to this forum and just *assume* a reported deal is in fact a deal. That's for the community to decide based on various factors, including past history.

This enclosure appears to be a clone of the OWC Express 1M2. I'm eager to see how it compares to it. I purchased mine for $75, which is not significantly more than this deal for a reliable and well-tested OWC enclosure.
I own the OWC 1M2. It, with a Samsung nvme just flies. I've not seen reviews of ugreen so far so I'll purchase another OWC.

Nice for those who need the speed. I find the 10gbps ones fast enough for me for backing up and storage

Grasshopper, in case you are new here. Technology items almost always go down in price or there is better product released to replace it.

Bought a proper one of this from a reputable brand. OWC had the 80mbps version on sale with coupon for $180 last month. Paired with a proper nvme, I was getting speeds over 6,000mbps, faster than my internal Mac Studio m4 max drive.

Only, @max did not provide any proof of it. I don't know if it was really the same deal (BTW the link is a different model OWC vs UGREE) or it was a price mistake, or had any shipping cost.
If the OWC 1M2 was $40, it was really a good price enough to doubt it. I can understand if UGREEN was $40.
