Stellar Blade is a stylish PS5 action game that scratches the Nier Automata itch with fun combat, strong physics, and lots of outfits and costumes. The boss fights lean souls like with parries and dodges, and the game can run long with plenty to unlock. The main knocks are uneven difficulty, frustrating platforming, and some later desert areas that feel repetitive, while the Nikke and Nier DLC costs extra. At $40 it still lands for some, but the strongest value seems to be closer to the low 30s or $20 range.

Common Questions (4)

  • It is a solid action game with fun combat, strong physics, and a story that can pull you in, but several comments say $40 is still high and that $20-$30 is a better buy point. The game also has some frustrating platforming and outfit unlocks, so the value depends on how much you want it now versus waiting for a deeper discount.

  • Yes. The digital edition was listed at $29.69 on the PlayStation Store, and multiple Walmart sightings reported copies at $20 in clearance or YMMV markdowns.

  • The PC version is often preferred because it can run at 120+ fps and offers modding potential, while one comment says the game is best played on PC. The PS5 version is still considered worthwhile if you do not have a PC.

  • No, the Nikke and Nier DLCs cost extra and are not included with the base game. If you want those crossover add-ons, factor them into the total cost before buying.

$20 would be a deal, the price stays high for this game due to the "physics simulations"

Just finished this game on PC. 60 hours all in (with one NG+ play-through and boss rush completed). It's a good game but really needs to be $30 by now. It's about as close to a Nier Automata game as you can get. Automata was better but this scratches the itch. Difficulty can be all over the place with some boss fights. Platforming can sometimes make you pull hair out. Devs leaned into souls-like combat for the boss fights, parrying and dodging but it's not as hard as those games, at least on normal.
Who are you to determine that? there are a lot of games that are on ps5 that aren't nearly as good as this.

That was an extremely YMMV thing, that very few people were able to replicate. You people seriously need to stop acting like something isn't a deal if a few people were able to get it super cheap.
Facts what happened to this site? if there isn't a price or or basically free it not a deal to a lot of people in here

Who are you to determine that I wish I could say how much I think a car should cost and get for that price. there are a lot of games that are on ps5 that aren't nearly as good as this.
I say that as someone who will not buy games for more than $40. If the price does not reach $40, I do not buy it, simple. Also there are better games out now for cheaper. Been playing/buying video games since the late 80s.

This is one of the games I was late to, but bought at ~$50 last year and ended up loving. The game is very solid, tons of unlockable outfits and costumes, but can also be frustrating to get them all (lots of them requiring the scavenger-hunt type missions, and multiple playthroughs (and re-doing those scavenger hunts) to unlock them.

I found the style to be great, the game done very well, loved the open-ness of it all, but it gets a bit frustrating going from somewhat unique environments early on, to what are essentially wide-open deserts for half of the game or more. I felt the desert areas felt a bit phoned in and lazy compared to the rest.

Played about 60 hours, made it through the main game + half of a 2nd round. Going to pick it back up to unlock the areas for free-roaming, but definitely worth the $40. Keep in mind the Nikke and Nier DLCs cost extra and aren't included.

It's one of the few games I've bought and played all the way through (and then went back to!)

If you live in Kansas City, MO. Go to Walmart in Liberty they have 2 copies left Steller Blade (PS5) $20 each (No Price Tag). If you live in North Kansas City, Gladstone, M HWY you can get Lost Soul Aside (PS5) $20 on the bottom of the glass case. Good Luck. You will find someone $15 or $20 as well & I already owned it. GOOD LUCK Smilie
