Stellar Blade is a stylish PS5 action game that scratches the Nier Automata itch with fun combat, strong physics, and lots of outfits and costumes. The boss fights lean souls like with parries and dodges, and the game can run long with plenty to unlock. The main knocks are uneven difficulty, frustrating platforming, and some later desert areas that feel repetitive, while the Nikke and Nier DLC costs extra. At $40 it still lands for some, but the strongest value seems to be closer to the low 30s or $20 range.

I found the style to be great, the game done very well, loved the open-ness of it all, but it gets a bit frustrating going from somewhat unique environments early on, to what are essentially wide-open deserts for half of the game or more. I felt the desert areas felt a bit phoned in and lazy compared to the rest.
Played about 60 hours, made it through the main game + half of a 2nd round. Going to pick it back up to unlock the areas for free-roaming, but definitely worth the $40. Keep in mind the Nikke and Nier DLCs cost extra and aren't included.
It's one of the few games I've bought and played all the way through (and then went back to!)
