Dual-direction? And to think, all these years I've been buying cheap single-direction torque wrenches, so I bought 4. 😂

Meh, according to one of the most recent reviews (I always sort by most recent, helps filter out all the fake "top" reviews...3 of the last 7 reviews says it's a piece of crap and give 1/5 stars, you don't want to cheap out on a torque wrench unless you like ruining expensive parts):

"The shipment included a Quality Check report showing the serial number for my wrench and cited successful torque release testing at 3 different torque settings. At first attempt to use the torque wrench it failed to release even at the lowest torque setting in either direction...bad manufacturing quality plus Quality Check report must have been falsified (there is no way that this passed QA testing). I also see other customer review instances stating exact same issue so this is a known occurance."

I don't get "Dual-Direction".
Isn't any torque trench able to loose a nut counter-clockwise?

But if it means torque control on either direction, what is the usefulness since loosing a nut doesn't need a torque control, and there's always one direction to loose?

You could always have a nut that is threaded in the opposite direction.

They're rare, but they exist -- for example, one of the pedals on a bicycle is threaded in the reverse of the usual way because otherwise the precession that happens while pedalling would tend to tighten one side and loosen the other.

(All that said, one doesn't normally use a torque wrench with a bicycle pedal, but I guess you might have to if the arm is carbon fiber.)

Experienced mechanics working in the inch-pound range will use a short handle wrench of the correct length for the fastener which makes it difficult to over-torque. It's too easy to strip out threads using a long handle torque wrench like this which all too often is out of calibration. BMW motorcycles used to come with short handle wrenches designed to prevent over-torquing. It's easy to hand tighten a spark plug correctly even in an aluminum head.

If you want to see something amusing, buy a second one and compare the certificates.

For the things where a torque wrench actually matters, you don't want to be using a marked down amazon one with questionable certification and terrible reviews.
Its a good way to break something or get someone hurt.
