Yep. They've been doing that for a while. We have an aluminum set. Chairs are very light. They still look new after 10+ years. Prices have gone down a lot. We bought our set (table and 6 chairs) for $2k 10+ years ago.

Aluminum, unlike iron, doesn't rust. However, it can corrode over a very long time when exposed to the elements. When exposed to water, aluminum forms a protective layer of aluminum oxide, which slows corrosion.

Aluminum doesn't rust. Iron rusts and things made with iron rust. Aluminum is not iron nor made with iron.

This now makes it 2 who said "no", but it's more important to go with science and knowledge than a popular vote.

I bought a set of cast aluminum off of Amazon really small and cheap. Make sure you look at the specs as pictures made it look much bigger. Small and flimsy. But it has lasted many years. Was great for my kids to use.

I have 2 patios at my new place. I bought 6 of these chairs, 2 swivel/rocking/captain's style chairs, a small round table and a 6 person dining table. I'm very happy with all the pieces. They are powder coated aluminum, which doesn't rust. The seat and seat back are fastened to the legs/arms with stainless steel hardware and little plastic caps. Assembly is easy but a little awkward because of the size of the pieces. Everything is light and sturdy. I'm not worried about my 300lb neighbor crushing them. If you leave them in the sun, rain and snow year-round the powder coating will become dull and brittle and flake off. I bought cheap covers for the winter but they remain uncovered otherwise. I also bought cushions. They aren't terrible to sit on without cushions but cushions aren't very expensive and make the sets look classier. I have dark red on one set and darkish-tan on the other set. If you're thinking about it, go for it

Exposed to air/oxygen aluminum creates aluminum oxide near instantaneously, basically sapphire. You never actually interact with pure Al is reactive

I ordered the chairs earlier this week from Home Depot and picked them up yesterday. Assembly was easy. Threads and bolts lined up. Instructions straightforward. Have a vacuum or dust buster handy to suck up all the little bits of styrofoam from the packaging. These are good, sturdy chairs that should last for years.
