Similar quality Medium jackets with synthetic insulation but the Powder Pass from OP does NOT have Columbia's Omni-Heat lining so it will tend to shed heat better if you are active. If you want max warmth from this style of jacket the Powder Lite probably has the edge, though the hood could realistically make up for that differential if you used it.

Thanks, I'm taking a trip to Switzerland in late March and wondering which would be best if I dress in layers. The hood is a plus but looking for something that will be good for the trip and not over do it because it will be end of winter season there

ive had good experiences with columbia jackets. looking to replace a shell ive had for 10 years. Still in great shape. can't speak to these down jackets though.
