The Soundcore Space A40 stands out as a compact stemless earbud with strong noise cancelling, long battery life, and a comfortable fit for everyday use. The Soundcore app helps dial in the sound, and multipoint, Bluetooth pairing, and Anker support are all described as solid when everything is working right. The main knocks are that the sound is only fair, the microphone can sound distant in louder places, and the buds can pop out during active movement. A good value at this price if you want small earbuds and can live with the fit quirks.

Common Questions (5)

  • The ANC is reported as excellent to pretty decent, and it can work well for TV, Zoom, and quieter environments. Call quality is less consistent: the mic can sound far away and sibilant, and louder places may drown your voice out.

  • They can be prone to popping out, especially during high-intensity activity or while walking around. Foam tips or aftermarket eartips can improve the fit and also help with noise cancellation and bass.

  • Battery life is described as good to long, with some owners getting charge left in the morning after falling asleep with them on. They are also used daily for long stretches without complaints about runtime.

  • Yes, it can connect to two devices simultaneously, and some users use it with a tablet and phone at the gym. It may still require manual disconnecting in some setups before audio switches over correctly.

  • Amazon is the safer choice if you want easier returns, since Newegg can be harder to fight for a refund on a defective pair. Anker support can also replace a bad unit directly and may let you keep the original pair.

I've used these pretty much everyday for the past year and a half to watch TV at night. They've been great for me and the noise cancelling is actually pretty decent. Just make sure to use the soundcore app to set them up to get the right audio settings.

RTings review. Noise cancelling is excellent, sound quality is fair, might pop out of your ear during high-intensity activity. https://www.rtings.com/headphones...y-wireless
In my opinion rtings reviews for headphones are not very good. It's much more subjective than tvs and monitors, this is a good deal, but there are better headphones that are sometimes in this price range (CMF buds, earfun air pro). As far as I've seen, these are still the best stemless buds in this price range.

Had these for all over a year and very impressed. My dad also had a pair he uses almost every day. Other than them occasionally wanting to pop out of the ear, no issues. That can probably be solved by foam rather than silicone ear tips.

The popularity of ear buds are lost on me. They don't stay in. Walking around with constant awareness of them hanging on in there.

For zoom, etc., pretty good and clear. I haven't used them for actual phone calls, but I bet they'd work pretty well, especially in quieter environments.

From Rtings:
"The Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless have disappointing microphone performance. Your voice on calls sounds far away and sibilant. On the plus side, the mic system separates your voice from background noise; however, you may be drowned out in louder environments, such as train stations. 5.8/10"

I've owned these since May 2023. I've never had a single person ask me to repeat anything, ever. Also, these are extremely comfortable, have good battery life, and the multipointworks as it should.
Thank you all for the replies.

Honestly, I'd rather pay the extra $7 from Amazon to avoid Newegg. You'll potentially spend weeks fighting Newegg to get your money back if you get a defective pair.
No one should be using NewEgg anymore. They were sold a few years back to a horrible Chinese company that has absolutely terrible support.

Definitely use NewEgg for their search engine to find what you need to buy elsewhere, though. It's unmatched.

i have these a40s. i do like them better than my various pixel and other earbuds which are more expensive. they have a long battery life and have remaining charge in the morning (after falling asleep). this price is better than the price on amazon history and also better than costco next (anker allows costco customers to get special pricing although there is no costco style warranty).

good point. i think i'll go to all the deals listed for items that i'm not interested in and let everyone know.

in all seriousness, i have these buds (and tons of others) and these are slightly more prone to falling out than some others. But otherwise, very good buds and i use them when i'm less active.

I've had these for a year now and they are great. Like others have said, they do pop out sometimes, but I bought comply foam tips and they totally changed these buds. They never pop out and have even better NC and sound/bass.

I find this shocking. I own and find the noise cancellation pretty much nonexistent. Maybe mine are broken? I also find that when walking in crowded areas with lots of Bluetooth headsets they frequently get dropouts.
Curious, I'd check if they're exactly the same model, then contact Anker support to see why the noise cancellation isn't doing much (perhaps they're in pass-through / awareness mode).
Good data point about drop-outs due to bluetooth interference!

I have been running competitively in these for around a year. I bought aftermarket eartips, which I'm sure contribute a lot, but the battery life, ease of use, lack of vibration push through (thumping through the ear buds), lack of wind noise (sit very flush and don't get bothered by high winds) and ability to stand up to insane sweating make these a top tier recommendation.

I never use noise canceling so I can't comment on that, but they're my dedicated hands free mics at home which has never gotten any complaints.

I've previously shared my thoughts on the Space A40 earbuds, and I believe they are excellent. However, if you're okay with stem-style buds, the Soundcore P31i outperforms the Space A40 in most aspects and is priced a few dollars cheaper. I own the P31i as well as a bunch of other earbuds.

I trust this guy's reviews more than the YouTube reviewers....

I got a couple pairs of these from the Anker ebay store and they are very good for music. I have no experience with phone calls so YMMV there. Noise cancelling is pretty good for both pairs - the person who said its non-existent probably has a warranty claim or isn't using the app. BTW - would never buy anything from Newegg again.
