Dumb question. Can you use these on lesser materials like metal and wood, or will that just wear them down so they eventually won't work well for their more intended harsher purposes like brick, etc?

Or should I just get the 15 pc Titanium set for lighter work around the house? https://www.homedepot.com/p/SHOCK.../322112926

According to Milwaukee these white ones are multi-material, and the red ones are brick only.

I've been using a set of these around the house and a handful of times in brick and concrete pavers since I got them on steep in store clearance, haven't dulled.

Correct - all things wear overtime and nothing is forever. I keep a specialty set like this around for the heavy stuff when I need it, and my everyday bits are the ones that see regular replacement. Easier on my wallet that way.

Another Dumb question: I've never used percussion drill bits on metal before, only masonry and concrete.

I thought you used carbide or titanium bits at lower RPM and some lubricant for drilling through metals as you need to cut through them not drive through them.

Just get the one you linked. These to me are a waist of money. Use masonry bits for masonry and regular bits for everything else
