Yeah this TV has no local dimming and mediocre brightness. I have a TCL 5 series from 2024 and it has better brightness than this TV.

90% of people don't notice poor black levels, bad color profiles, bad off angle viewing, screen tearing, etc. Studies have showed the most important feature of a tv to the general public is size. It's pretty amazing that we live in a time that you can get a 75" tv for $300.
I went through this recently with buying a tv for my elderly parents. I wanted to get them a $1000+ 75" tv. They could care-less when I showed them differences between higher quality tv and a budget set. They absolutely love the $350 Hisense 75" I ended up getting them vs the 55" they had prior.

Depends on the content they are actually watching... I just replaced an older Samsung thst was backlid led (not a cheap edge lit) with TCL QM6K mini led for my parents... They were blown away... The brightness, the 4K movies all seem to come to life versus the previous TV. It's all about context and point of reference. For most, save your money... "Buy nice or Buy Twice"
