There must be a glitch in the Matrix because about an hour before this got posted, one of my smoke detectors started chirping and I tried to replace the battery with these ones I had in storage. I had three of these batteries and after replacing, they all continued chirping. Expiration date is 06-2027 so it's not as if they are very old. I had replaced other detectors with these maybe 1.5 years ago and they are still fine. Purely anecdotal, but my conclusion is that these don't have a great shelf life. It's not the smoke detector as I ended up taking a battery from a CO2 detector and plugging it in the smoke detector, which caused it to stop chirping (and the battery in t he CO2 detector wasn't even Alkaline, but "Heavy Duty").

Also on the 24 pack (bringing the price per battery on line with this), plus 15% coupon of you haven't used it.

... I don't need 24 9V batteries, and probably won't before the last few expire. 😒

Any idea how long these last? Duracells seem to last longest, others I bought started chirping before 6 months

do not use the 15% coupon on this

that coupon is once per lifetime for ALL amazon branded items

use it on something much more expensive

you can still get 15% using five items on the subscribe and save

These seem to die extra fast in smoke detectors. I'm only putting USA Duracell in anything long term now.

btw note that smoke detectors themselves start dying after 8 years and supposed to be replaced after 10

y'all need to pickup a free harbor freight voltage meter to check actual voltages (and free 9v heavy duty battery inside lol)
