This Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition stands out as a thin 15.3 inch laptop with a sharp 3K 120Hz touchscreen, strong battery life, and unusually good speakers and keyboard. The 32GB memory and Lunar Lake Core Ultra 7 chip make it feel fast for everyday work, and the screen is praised for looking close to OLED while staying easier on battery. It is not a 2 in 1, the RAM is not upgradeable, and heavier workloads or Chrome tab loads can expose limits. A solid portable all arounder if you want premium features without a bulky chassis.

Common Questions (5)

  • It stays cool in normal use and does not run hot like a gaming laptop. Heavier workloads can be limited by the 8-core CPU, and Chrome slowdowns were reported with fewer than 10 tabs on one unit.

  • The 15.3-inch 3K 120Hz display is described as one of the best on a laptop and close to OLED quality, while the build feels premium. The screen is also a higher-spec panel than the Costco version's 2K 60Hz display.

  • Battery life can reach a full day depending on use, and light Linux/web use can stretch to 12+ hours. The Lunar Lake chip also idles around 2W, which helps keep power draw low.

  • No. Despite the Yoga branding, this model is not a 2-in-1 convertible, so it does not fold into tablet mode.

  • No. The RAM is non-upgradeable, so the 32GB configuration is the important one to buy if you want more memory headroom.

The screen on this model is one of the best out there (I have this laptop) and is very close to OLED quality (I also have an OLED laptop).
Someone above said it's not a premium laptop (what that is I'm not exactly sure) but the build quality feels premium to me!
As a techie type, the only downside is the SSD is a 2242 which makes upgrades to larger sizes a bit difficult as there aren't many 2242 SSD's to choose from and they're not as high performance as their 2280 counterparts. You can "fit" a 2280 SSD with the use of some insulating tape, though. Wink

I had this one and returned it. I am not sure if it's a processor thing but Chrome even with less than 10 tabs is hanging. I never had that issue with my fried 12th gen intel and I feel like this is better for the non-developer user.

I got this same laptop in open box excellent condition for $627 a few months ago. It may go lower in price in the future so not the best deal. It's a great laptop for basic tasks but the 8 cores can be limiting for heavier tasks. I love the size though. Bigger than 14" laptops but a little more portable than larger 16" ones.

Sorry, price is now $1,199.99. Might be available by Ship to Warehouse or in your local warehouse but YMMV. Here's the link: https://www.costco.com/p/-/lenovo...?langId=-1

The Costco machine has a lower spec screen. Only 2K and 60Hz. But, presumably, better battery life as a result.
Agree but also the price now has reverted to $1,199.99 and mostly out of stock.

Its quite good, above average for sure. You can get a full day out of it depending on how you use it. Its not a power user or gamer laptop, so it does not run hot at all. Speakers are quite good also. Keyboard is Lenovo goodness. 15.3 inch screen is oddball size, right between the common sizes of 14 to 16 inches, and I love it. That said, it is not a premium laptop. 32GB ram is on here is great at this price.
hows the fan noise?

I pulled the trigger the first night this was posted. Picked one up in Good condition for 805 I think it was.

No noticeable scratches, box clearly was opened and unpacked. I need to check the battery on hours (can't remember how to check but will shortly).

However I was specifically looking for this model because I wanted to run a Linux distro on it and try to leave Windows behind except for some AAA anticheat games (come on Battlefield wake the f up).

It's day 3 now and so far the laptop is fantastic. No performance issues, let it run for most of the day yesterday while I installed and configured things in Pop! _OS. It still has 40% battery left and I haven't plugged it in since I opened the box and let it charge over night the first night.

Great build quality and the screen is gorgeous. I still prefer my Surface Laptop 7's "not so squishy" keyboard but this will grow on me quickly.

Very pleased with the product and experience so far. I'm sure a normal Windows user will also be happy.

Edit:
Confirmed, the nvme has only 66 hours of power on time. Battery health is still listed at 100% (full vs design values are matching).

My only complaint is that I wish I had done this 6 months ago. Before the RAM crisis erc. this exact model could be found open box for $650-700. Still and awesome machine and worth the $ IMO.

I bought and returned probably 6 laptops before settling on this one.
The IPS screen, IMO, is better than OLED and doesn't suffer from gamma/flickering issues, and it's also much better for battery life.
The Lunar Lake chip idles around 2W, you can browse the web at 4-5W, which means like 12+ hours of battery life.
Excellent speakers as well, and they worked out of the box with proper EQ on linux.
This model is probably as close as you can get to a MacBook air on Wintel.
There is one quirk with Linux where the laptop doesn't suspend properly, but there are ACPI patches out there that can fix the issue:

TLDR, if you want the best long-battery-life MacBook Air esque x86-64 laptop that runs windows or linux, this is the one to get.

All these thin laptops have neutered CPUs. I honestly dont see the point
This is true, but these are much better than a decade ago. However, they are not desktop equivalents. I learned that with the older i7 mobile chips that throttled like crazy or were susceptible to laptop heat.

This is basically my dream laptop. The only thing I would ask for is more ports, but it has the bare necessities. I bought an excellent condition one a couple days ago and got it yesterday. It was really smudgy, but cleaned up nice and has 10 cycles on the battery.
Here's a couple good things that aren't obvious: 1. It has charging ports on BOTH SIDES. Insanely underrated feature and the main reason I want this one 2. The speakers are fantastic, I've only ever heard high tier MacBooks with speakers this good. They're also upward facing so you don't feel like everyone but you can hear what you're playing 3. The keyboard backlight has auto mode. I don't know if it's good yet, but my goodness how did it take us this long to make that. 4. It has a presence sensor (so when you walk away it auto locks, when you come back it automatically starts the facial recognition) which I don't personally use, but I recognize is really cool to have in certain use cases
