What I experience is a small boost in energy, but sustained for 4-6 hours (half-life is 3 hours). It isn't like the big doses of other B vitamins they add to energy drinks and other supplements to make them feel like they're doing something where they give a big energy boost, but wear off fast and feel like a crash when they do. The methylfolate feels more like a correction than an artificial boost. I have one of the two possible MTHFR gene mutations that reduce folate absorption, but wasn't sure if it was ok to mention that in the deal post. I tried the combination folate & B12 capsules that only have 680mcg and it didn't feel effective enough to warrant buying again. It's not life-changing/can't do without it, but for me the 1700mcg boost that makes me feel slightly better than baseline is worth the usual $9 a bottle price. I've been taking it for a bit over a year.
