I have this. It's decent. But it can't charge with the barrel connector and output with the 100w usb-c port at the same time. I found this limitation obnoxious for my use case and, if I could, would skip it if I had the choice all over again.

Like the current trend to obmit the charger with new smartphones it's likely to save on costs. Any usb c charger should work, but higher wattage ones will charge faster.

Two questions :
-What do you use with the barrel connector to charge? The included 12V connector?
-what else would you have purchased for $60 for your use case that would provide all that this does?
Sounds like you need pass-through charging
Very few of these do, unless it needs a specific type of charger . The majority of USB-C powered items sold in the past few years don't include chargers.
In the past most chargers were underpowered and took up a full outlet. I like the multi - port GAN chargers that can output 100W via USB-C. Much more useful and versatile.

The barrel charges at 12v 100 watt for solar (or car). So if sun is iffy and only doing 25 watt or something, it disables charging from usb-c. Its either or, whatever starts charging first disables the other charging. So you cant have a rare use case of trying to hook up an external battery and charge via solar at the same time.
But nothing is coming close to this for $60. The nearest thing is the ecoflow trail if you can find it refurbished. Most of its ins and outs are bi directional, you can even charge with 2 100 watt usb c chargers at the same time.

Interesting that they label the 100w USB-C port "input". Can't recall if I bothered reading the manual, so might have never tried using that port as "output". Nevertheless, thanks for the tip since I charge via barrel plug/solar, too.

Guess maybe the smaller ones don't. I have a River3 that came with the wall charger.
Why would it at this price point? It doesnt provide all that much power to begin with. An inverter also costs money and it doesnt fit in the price range of this product. You want a wall charger, spend more.
I've used this now for a month and it charges fast with usb c connector and does a good job at charging phones/laptops like a backup battery supply should do.

1. I keep it plugged into the barrel connector all the time to keep it charged. So having to physically unplug the usb-c 100w port to allow it to charge is quite annoying.
2. I don't know, do I have to have a different product in mind for my criticism to be valid?
