I don't see any problem with human sized wrists wearing the smaller watch. If you have fat wrists, get the big one. 😆
The original Apple Watches were small = 38mm and large = 42mm
They have increased in size about 0.3mm per generation.

Compare to your current watch. If new to Apple Watch you can walk into an Apple store and try it on. Get the one that looks/feels right for you.
