I have been using this one successfully for a while. Bought another. The nice thing about this is that the USB C PD port goes up to 100W, vs 30W for this one,. Laptops are often more than 30W.
Is this nice for a storm? I feel like I always have a few of these batteries sitting around, maybe good to keep around for power outages
I like these to keep in my vehicle as a last resort way to charge my phone since it's bigger and bulkier than a regular battery pack. There is a few versions of this, I have 2, this one and one that looks identical to this but has a 120v outlet on it (but doesn't have the 12v outlet or the usb-c port). I prefer this one, but if you need to power a small 120v item, check out the other one. Of course theres the 1800w big daddy that takes up to 8 ryobi batteries at once, but thats 13x this price (but it does come with 4x 6ah batteries on it's current sale)
Silly me. I thought "inverter" means DC to AC. But I don't see that this has AC output, does it?
Inverter can also be DC-DC, it's just most commonly used in the way you're thinking. The model you're after is the 18V ONE+ 150-WATT POWER SOURCE RYi150BGA which does 120v x 1.25a and is also currently $50, but lacks the DC car output or USB-C. If you can get by with a little less power the 18V ONE+ 120-WATT AUTOMOTIVE POWER SOURCE RYi120A is $44.97 (or RYI120AVNM $40 @ Amazon), and the main unit's smaller because it comes with adapters for either car or Ryobi ONE.

Just ordered this. I have a couple pellet smokers that work on a 12v system and this should let me use it for smaller cooks. One of them is a smaller portable one which would be perfect this. I just wonder how long I can run them on a 4ah battery.

I just want to throw in my support for the Symik. I believe I have the pro version. It's the only device I have that lets me set the power delivery output current. It's meant for using on smaller batteries not capable of 100W, but I use it do things like test the minimum current a laptop can charge from, or just charge a device slower to reduce heat.
Ryobi is about to come out with an actual 18V inverter device that outputs a pure sine wave.

I have been thinking about buying one of the Symik but the big draw for the Ryobi is the 12 volt outlet. I have one of the ryobi inverters, not sure if it is this exact model but it ran my router and gateway for most of the day while my power was out so I still had internet for my portable devices. I would buy another one just for that.
