I was debating since the chinese adapters are two port for power input, but had no issue using a benfei usb c to hdmi while powered.

Got lucky with the used system I got last week w/ case. Thank you for the insight.
Still a good deal since this is the price crkd sells refurb for on their site with amazon return policy.
worth it for the plus edition for $15 more if you need output on the go.
Currently on sale directly from CRKD for the plus edition $44.99 pre tax with free shipping over $50 (I do like having the case, but wish I also had room for joycons for multiplayer).
Don't install the phone app - it both does nothing and requests an absurd amount of permissions there is no rational reason to request (at least on iOS) - record your phone's screen video and audio (including any logins and passwords you type), build a location profile, build a location profile with Bluetooth (which is not used to connect to the device)... Oh, perhaps relatedly, the state-owned, sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia owns a significant minority stake in CRKD's parent company (Embracer Group).
Beyond that I had one of these (different color) and it's pretty low build quality (eg heavy light bleed from the LED through the case). For comfort everyone is different, but I found this pretty uncomfortable to hold so make sure you get a good feel while still in the return window.
I also strongly disliked how difficult it was to get the switch out of this (at least the switch OLED). The "eject" function only releases the side grip, it does not help you actually remove the device.
I returned mine.
