I'm really, really hoping the two or three port versions come back. They are compact, great for travel or for many outlets around the house and work great!

Agreed, the 72w White ones with the 3 ports were a steal. I've used the hell out of the last 3 I bought.

20 watts is really not "fast" charging any more, hasn't been for a while actually. Most phones require 45 watts or better to be considered fast these days. Yeah, its "cheap" but that just means when you forget it at the hotel you wont care much.

I agree, but the fast charging is in the name of the product. This charger is at least 4 years old and is on clearance on woot. It's definitely not cutting edge, so you're right to point it out.

"Fast charging" is an outdated, but commonly used term to indicate 15W or greater. "Super fast charging" is commonly used to describe charging speeds of 25W+ for mobile devices.

It is similar to how "SuperSpeed" is still used to describe USB 3.0 at 5 Gbps. It looks like SuperSpeed became standard in 2008. Since then, USB 4 has reached speeds of 40 Gbps, with 80 and even 120 Gbps on the horizon.

"Fast charging", "Super fast charging", and "SuperSpeed" are unfortunately accepted as specific marketing terms. Which means that while they are antiquated and misleading, they are technically still valid terms.

Side note: Most mobile device greatly slow down their charging speeds based in part by how full the battery is. Many tests have demonstrated devices supporting 25W+ when the battery is almost empty. But the speeds often end up around something unexpected like 10W by the time the battery is half or two-thirds full. That takeaway being that using a 25W charger isn't a clear 2.5x speedup over a 10W charger like you may think.

Bought one on a previous deal and it dies right away. Like a month in or less.

As a counterpoint, I purchased 2 in July 2025 that still function just fine.

Bought the 3 pack for $12 6 months ago, have been using 2 of the 3 daily since then without any issues. I usually use them to charge overnight so not being the fastest isn't a big concern, seem to charge my devices plenty fast when I do need a top off during the day.

If you live near Ikea, they have a 20W charger with multiple safety standards for only $3.99.

To be frank, I'd cough up the extra $4 and buy the Anker Nano 30W for $10.

30W with PPS vs 20W with only two 5V and 9V PDOs.

It's also more compact, has folding prongs, and a 2-year warranty, vs. 90-day on this.

Objectively, too many factors that make it superior for not much more dough.

Also, Ikea 20w charger with the 12v capability is great for bigger devices like the Surface Go. This only does 5v and 9v modes.
I also like the Iniu 30w chargers in the 2 pack that come up once a month for around for $9 with very nice cables.

the 2 or 3 pack is a good deal for vacations. Basically disposable for getting lost or damaged while having too much fun.

This is false. I've been selling mobile communications at different capacities since the Palm Treo. The iPhone 17 charges 50% in 20 minutes on 40w, and in 30 minutes on 20W. iPhone 17 accepts pulls maximum of 40w, Galaxy S25 maximum 25W, and pixel 10 a maximum 30W.
Even if you use a higher watt charger it still won't pull the full wattage the entire time. It will pull less power before the end for the sake of preventing overheating. This is why they brag about how fast it charges to 50% and not to 100%.

20W charger is not much different than a 40W when it comes to a phone. Might even put less wear on your phone battery due to less heat, especially if you plug your phone in while you sleep every night.
