It's cheap but you are going to regret having only 12gb of ram an an SSD drive that can barely fit 1 game

Not a deal. Its a single 12gb RAM stick. So you are running in single channel mode. That results in a massive performance hit.

An additional 12 or 16gb DDR5 stick is not affordable right now.
That's why you call this not a deal? Why don't you link us to a gaming laptop with similar, or better, specs for this price instead of pointing of nonsensical things.

DDR5 does not suffer as much of a performance hit as older gen memory does. I doubt you would notice it on this machine.

having 12GB for gaming is not a "nonsensical thing", you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Watch some videos and read some articles first to improve your knowledge before you comment on threads. It is a non-sensical thing; gaming laptops at this price either have 8GB RAM or come with inferior specs. The fact this has 12GB RAM instead of 8GB is a pro, not a con, considering the RAM prices. And even if you say 12GB is going to hinder gaming performance (which the DDR5 does not to that extent), every other spec on this laptop is better than what you would find in other gaming laptops at this price point.
I asked for a link to better gaming laptops deals, which neither you, nor the other commenter, have provided. Do that and prove me wrong.

It's a solid 15-20% performance drop due to single channel mode.

What's "nonsensical" is calling this heavily crippled thing a "gaming" laptop. Just because there isn't a machine with similar specs for same price currently, doesn't mean there never is. There were plenty of times throughout the year when laptops were on sale with better performance for around $500. The fact this has an RTX 4050 is irrelevant when that card is crippled by single channel RAM. Given current DDR5 RAM prices an upgrade is not an option. Also, this laptop has a very slow SSD. Hence the decreased price.

Stop nitpicking the best deal by far for any laptop with a 4050 GPU! Chairbash
Your posts are indeed nonsense.

Single channel vs dual is like 10-15% difference. Not "MASSIVE".

I was about to say the same thing. Sounds a pretty good deal for $500. Might have to pick it. I'm doing a training bootcamp soon and need a replacement for my malfunctioning Razer, and this is a quick pick up with decent specs for $500. So far it's the best laptop at this price I've seen so far on Slickdeals.
