I have this, it's ok. Works fine and all. Quick readings. One thing I don't like is, you have to fold the probe to turn it off, unfold to turn it on. After I stick it in (raw) meat and get the probe all gross, I have to fold it in to turn it off, which spreads the gross stuff to the body of the device and potentially my hands. Alternative is to leave it on the whole time you're cooking which drains the battery unnecessarily.
My other thermometer (a different brand but similar design) has a power button so you can turn it on and off without folding and unfolding the probe.

I'm a dad who's new to cooking. It's incredible how good things taste when they're not over/undercooked. It's also a lot of fun to cook things with my kids and not have it be awful 😂

Or you could, you know, wash the probe off after you use it? Just run it under the water with some disinfectant and rinse off. Takes less than 5 seconds.
