Have this and love it for electrical work. Casually cuts through 4/0 aluminum and copper. A joy to use.

Not anything near construction or heavy user of power tools, hence my question
What's the advantage of this over a sawzall type tool, if any?

Sawzalls are typically meant for tearout and demolition. They'll leave jagged edges on the cut. They're also hard to use one handed.

Portable band saws like these are used to cut metal with a clean edge, such as electrical conduit or 80/20 aluminum. They can be held with one hand easily.

Or you can use the one-hand recip saw with high tooth count.

Much larger blade area makes heat dissipate a lot faster, meaning metal cuts can go faster and cleaner. No reciprocating action makes use a lot more comfortable for the operator, so you could use it all day long for big jobs.

If you're cutting something like 5x5 angle bar or Steel plate, thisnwill make a better cut and a heck of a lot faster. Always remember to use cutting oil

I don't understand how to see the clearance pricing at different store. Every deal always shows the non clearance price, even after changing stores

I have the non compact version of this. Used it many time to cut random bars etc. It is awesome if you can find it at this price.

For those that own, I see the blade is 30-9/16" vs 32-7/8" that seems to be more popular. Any issues getting affordable blades? Choices other that TTI (Milwaukee/Rigid) that work well?
Is it worth going with a Ryobi or Hercules to get a more common blade size?

I haven't been able to get a YMMV item listed on Slickdeals for over a year now. Starting to think the companies post items in small area at that price for clicks or to do brand promotion.

Nothing against you OP, don't mean to offend you.
