What makes this 2 1/2 time the worth of a dewalt sander?
I have a festool rotex 150, which is more or less the bougie version of the bosch. the geared mode is as aggressive as a belt sander. if you have a woodcraft or rockler within driving distance, call and see if they have any demo tools you can try out at their store. you'll easily see why festool can charge $740 for a sander. if you have money and a lack of spare time to dedicate into the workshop, festool makes sense. both the Bosch and the festool are made in the EU.
What makes this 2 1/2 time the worth of a dewalt sander?
I have and use both (the 6" Bosch and the dewalt random orbital). The Bosch vibrates much less than the dewalt, has better dust collection, and is so much easier on my hands+wrists for a large project. For something small, I just bust out the cordless dewalt. I hate cords, and it's quieter.
