I have a solium solar camera similar to this and it has been working reliably, has constant network connection never had to reset and taken a beating for over 5 years and still going strong. The eufy and blinks have been failing during the same time frame. The software interface is poor but I love this camera, great value.

Did a fair bit of research recently before going with Tapo but these were high on my list for value (all solar and 360 with a home base). All of the reviews and videos I saw were really pushing my towards them for all of the reasons one would assume as far as tracking range, video quality, rich alerts, etc. Comparably, my Tapo setup was about 2.5x the cost of this setup for a similar layout + 2 indoor cameras. Like the previous commenter states, the Soliom app may be lacking compared to competitors, but still absolutely useable.

Have older Solium solar panels camera, still working after 5 years. As said previously, app is not best but workable. Has gone through Texas summer heat wave, ice storm, snow storm, and still works fine. 18650 battery bay holds six batteries and it does ultimately need to be rotated but it has been very good.

Any coupon codes for the 2 packs of the same camera for slightly more (per camera). I'm not sure I can convince the wife we need 4 cameras, but I know 2 would be fine, as she really wants one to watch the bird feeder.

I'd just buy the 4 pack and store the other two. Hard to beat the price.

lol I think they meant 2.5gHz and 5gHz wifi band. Not 5G as in cellular lol. FYI 5gHz is less crowded band, but shorter range, 2.5gHz is more crowded but longer range. So essentially use 5gHz if you can work with the shorter range. It also depends if your wifi router supports 5gHz.

Should we be concerned about CCP invading our privacy with these?

Thinking about replacing my Arlo Base and running two H8 hardware cameras. We pay the yearly subscription, and sadly it just renewed on Jan 2, 2026. Will this allow for me and my wife to view the live view and or past recordings remotely on our iPhones and iPads? Also, how does one increase the space on the base, is it just a swap of a memory card?

I got a similar set at a similar price point and found that the software is definitely the weak point with these bargain cams. Not compatible with the excellent 3rd party programs out there for cam management and monitoring, but still somewhat usable.

Pro Tip: These resellers on Amazon live and die by their reviews and star ratings because they affect how much they have to pay Amazon to be listed on their site. Therefore, you can "weaponize" your review to get additional discounts if you are careful, write a clear and complete review and are willing to compromise. I ended up getting mine completely for free in the end. 😁
